I have had a few request to finish up the Taco Bell breakfast so here is round 2. This time I will discuss two items. I will discuss he AM Grilled taco and breakfast burrito.
The Grilled taco is as the name says, a grilled taco. It takes the classic soft shell taco and fills it with a decent portion of scrambled eggs, bacon bits, and cheese of course. It came together quite well and I liked the crispiness of the grilled shell. There was just enough egg in the taco not to overwhelm the other flavors. I have not tried the sausage version of this and probably won’t because I know what the Taco Bell sausage is like and I prefer the bacon. I will say I found the taco to be a little dry so adding a little taco bell hot sauce really stepped up the overall experience. If you don’t like heat I would still suggest adding the mild sauce.
Overall a good choice for breakfast. I still prefer the Crunchwrap over the taco mainly because of the hashbrowns and jalapeno sauce.
Second, the breakfast burrito. I have tried both the bacon and the steak versions of this, but not the sausage. Surprisingly both were some of my least favorite items. This stems from the eggs being dry just as in the taco, except in the burrito you get twice as much eggs. No grill on his one, just a soft burrito shell filled with the scrambled eggs, cheese and meat. The one thing that made the steak version stand out was the jalapeno sauce that by now you know I love. However, the steak itself is pretty chewy, but what you expect from Taco Bell.
Overall Bacon burrito, would not recommend. Steak burrito, give it a try if you like the sauce on the crunchwrap or you like other steak items from Taco Bell.
Here are the Rankings so far
1. Bacon AM Crunchwrap
2. Sausage AM Crunchwrap
3. Steak Burrito
4. AM Grilled Bacon Taco
5. Bacon Burrito
